Its facade is broken into smaller elements separated by courtyards and staircases, and articulated at the street level as a series of retail units. The jury admired the simple elegance of the elevations. The graphic qualities of the diagonal form of the dark-clad linking staircase provide orientation.  The jury generally admired the architects’ handling of a building of this scale in such a sensitive location.
