Subeditors are required to prepare RIBA Journal’s content for publication, both in print and online

Wanted: Skilled subeditors

Pay: £30 per page (print); £50 per story (digital); £25 per story (print to digital), to include a weekly meeting
Location: Remote
 
RIBA Journal is the UK’s largest-circulation architecture magazine, meeting the needs of architects in their works and in their practices, providing intelligence, inspiration and technical insight. It is made up of daily articles on ribaj.com, regular newsletters and webinars, and a magazine, RIBA Journal, published in print ten times a year.
 
This subediting role is pivotal to ensuring all of RIBA Journal’s content is accurate, engaging, timely, in house style and appropriate for a professional audience. It also includes writing social media posts and optimising text for SEO. We are looking for collaborative subeditors who enjoy being part of a dynamic and creative team.
 
More on what we're looking for: 
 
  • Experienced subeditors, with a track record of working with online and print publications.
  • Excellent subediting/copywriting skills and sound judgement.
  • An organised, reliable and proactive approach to work, with the ability to multitask and work flexibly.
  • An ability to foster positive and strong team relationships.
  • Working knowledge of social media, particularly Twitter, Linkedin and Facebook, or a willingness to learn.
  • Working knowledge of InDesign and experience of using a content management system.
  • A knowledge of the built environment sector and/or experience working in a media setting on design and construction titles would be an asset.​

Interview date: Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 November
