Set in the Cultural Industries Conservation Quarter of Sheffield, this project uses crisp, modern insertions to bring back into use four virtually derelict warehouses. The result provides flexible workspace for Jaywing, a creative marketing agency. The project ‘speaks’ Sheffield with confidence. It is sympathetic to its context, while bold clear interventions provide impact. Externally, anodised aluminium cladding marks the infill elevation to Matilda Street. Internally, exposed concrete and brickwork provide thermal mass which assists the environmental performance. The Courtyard infill virtually doubles the usable area and creates a new heart for the office accommodation.

The space is wonderfully lit by north lights and provides a generous and calm working environment. Furniture and finishes are co-ordinated with a fine attention to detail throughout.
