Dulux Trade is dedicated to supplying high quality products that specifiers can trust and the new and improved Dulux Trade Diamond Matt is part of this important mission.

Dulux Trade is constantly striving to provide the industry with a wide range of quality products. This means that it regularly reviews its range and takes on board customer feedback to ensure every paint is the best that it can be.

Dulux Trade Diamond Matt was the first durable paint launched to market and has become a widely specified and trusted solution - particularly for areas that get a lot of wear and tear.

However, advancements in technology meant that it could be updated to deliver the same durability, but with improved sustainability credentials too.

In the video below, AkzoNobel’s Duncan Lochhead (commercial sustainability manager at Dulux Decorator Centre) and Peter Howard (sustainability & CSR lead) talk about why Dulux Trade Diamond Matt has been upgraded and the benefits it offers.

What do architects want from the paints they specify?

According to the National Building Specification (NBS) What Specifiers Want Report 2023, architects 'are keen to specify sustainable products'.

Fourteen per cent of those surveyed said that they almost always specify the most sustainable product, even if other options are much cheaper or perform better.

Dulux Trade placed this front and centre when updating the Diamond Matt formula and it is now 99.9 per cent VOC free, based on in-can VOC content, measured in accordance with ISO 11890-2:2013.

This means that it has a lower impact on indoor air quality and the overall carbon footprint of a project when compared with the previous Diamond Matt formulation, helping specifiers create even more sustainable spaces.

For added reassurance that it delivers sustainability benefits, Dulux Trade Diamond Matt is compliant with green building accreditations BREEAM, LEED and WELL.
