Aluminium fenestration manufacturer Senior Architectural Systems has won a King's Award for Enterprise 2023.

The company was honoured in the Innovation category for the design, development and delivery of its market-leading PURe aluminium window and door system.

Formerly the Queen's Awards for Enterprise, the prizes are for outstanding achievement by UK businesses in four categories, the others being International trade, Sustainable development, and Promoting opportunity through social mobility.

Senior is one of only 148 organisations nationwide to have been recognised following an official announcement on 21 April.

Its patented PURe window and door design features a thermal barrier that reduces heat loss and provides exceptional energy efficiency, comfortably meeting the latest Part L requirements by achieving U-values as low as 0.71W/m2K when calculated as a commercial CEN Standard window.

Senior was established in 1991 and has grown to become the largest privately owned aluminium fenestration systems in the UK. It continues to be at the forefront of the development of energy-efficient aluminium windows, doors and curtain wall systems.

It launched the PURe aluminium system in 2015 with its highly efficient expanded polyurethane (PUR) thermal barrier that provides exceptional thermal performance.

As well as helping to prevent heat loss to reduce energy consumption, the PURe system offers cradle-to-cradle recyclability, with even the PUR thermal barrier able to be reused with no requirement for landfill.

Over the past decade, Senior has continued to develop and extend its PURe range to include a variety of window styles and commercial and residential door options.
