The Official Police Security Initiative aims to enhance the security of buildings and their surroundings, creating secure environments for different purposes.

The initiative's Secured by Design (SBD) accreditation scheme ensures that security products meet recognised standards to deter and reduce crime.

The level of certification categorised under its Security Rating 2 and Security Rating 3 gives specifiers insight into the level of resistance offered and the type of tools used for intrusion attempts.

The SR2 level is specifically designed to withstand determined opportunist attacks using tools with higher mechanical advantages, while the higher SR3 rating is certified against deliberate forced entry for a prolonged period using a wider selection of tools.

The Rooflight Co's SBD rooflights collection

The Rooflight Co offers the widest range of rooflights that have achieved SBD accreditation, setting the standard for higher level security in the construction industry.

It provides a collection of SBD rooflights to Loss Prevention Standard 1175, with solutions accredited to both SR2 and SR3. This certification demonstrates the rooflights are tried, tested and approved for installation onto concrete and hardwood structural kerbs, offering peace of mind and security.

The Rooflight Co is commited to innovation and to providing safe and secure solutions for all building sectors, including sensitive environments such as schools and banks.

Its SBD accredited rooflights combine functionality, security and design and have been a trusted solution for many high-profile buildings, including the Atkins Architects-designed archive and historical research centre, The Keep, in Brighton.
